The Bean Merchant’s Daughter

Prince Hussam keeps on teasing Zeinah, one of the three daughters of Rasheed,the bean merchant. But Zeinah fights back. This leads to a series of reactions and counter-reactions with mutual hate (or seduction?) growing increasingly.


Raymond Aftimos, a budding director, is graduated with a degree in Audiovisuals arts from the «Université Saint Joseph de Beyrouth» (Institut d’Études Scéniques, Audiovisuelles et Cinématographiques) (IESAV-USJ). Born on the 1st of May 1993 in Beirut, he is also passionate about theatre and tries as much as possible in his projects to mix both universes (theatre and film). Apart from his academic projects, Raymond Aftimos also worked as an assistant director and responsible for audiovisual media (ads, live projections) in several plays of the Lebanese author and director Betty Taoutel. He also wrote and directed archive documentaries like «Tribute to Salwa Al Katrib”, a documentary screened at the opening of the 6th «Festival International du Court-Métrage des Écoles de Cinéma” (FICMEC) in IESAV in 2014. Another tribute was made to Charles De Gaulle. Indeed, a film directed by Raymond Aftimos was produced by the «Association pour le développement de l’amitié libano-française” (ADALF) and screened on the 18th of June 2015 in Deir el-alaa Beit Mery in Lebanon as part of the 75th anniversary of De Gaulle’s radio appeal.
